Medang

Medang Island is an island group located off the north coast of Sumbawa in Indonesia. Situated west of Moyo Island within the Flores Sea, the archipelago consists of two primary islands: Medang Besar and Medang Kecil. These areas are administratively referred to as Bajo Medang and Bugis Medang.

The island group covers a total area of approximately 28 km2 and had a combined population of about 3,000 residents in 2022. The surrounding waters are characterized by coral reefs that provide a habitat for marine life, including sharks and giant sponges.
