Jepara is a town located on the north coast of Java in the province of Central Java, Indonesia. It serves as the main town of the Jepara Regency and is situated northeast of Semarang, near Mount Muria. As of mid-2024, the town has a population of 85,970.
The area is primarily recognized for its traditional Javanese teak wood carving art. Additionally, Jepara is notable as the birthplace of Kartini, who was a pioneer in the field of women's rights for Indonesians.
