Banggi Island, also known as Banguey Island, is located in the Kudat Division of the Kudat District in Sabah, Malaysia. It sits off the northern coast of Sabah near Marudu Bay and is separated from the mainland by the South Banggi Channel. The island covers an area of 440.7 square kilometres (170.2 sq mi), making it the largest island fully within the country.
The highest point on the island is Senambung Hill, which reaches an elevation of 572 metres (1,877 ft). As of 2016, Banggi Island had an estimated population of 30,000 residents. Major settlements on the island include Limbuak, along with several other communities such as Balambangan, Dagotan, Kapitangan, Karakit, Laksian, Lok Agong, Loktohog, Malawali, Maliu, Palak, Sabor, Sebogoh, and Tigabu.
