Ambarawa is a town and an administrative district (kecamatan) situated in the Central Java Province of Indonesia. It is located within the Semarang Regency, positioned geographically between the cities of Semarang and Salatiga.
The administrative boundaries of Ambarawa are defined by several neighboring districts. It is bordered by Bandungan to the north, Bawen to the east, Jambu to the west, and Banyubiru to the south.
