Tais cloth is a traditional form of weaving produced by women in East Timor. The Catholic Church of East Timor has integrated the use of tais into its own ceremonies. Due to the historical Indonesian occupation of East Timor, comprehensive studies regarding the history and significance of tais weaving only commenced after the year 2000.
