Pidie Regency is a regency located in the Aceh Province on the northern part of Sumatra island in western Indonesia. It covers a land area of 3,184.46 square kilometres and shares borders with the Malacca Strait to the north, Pidie Jaya Regency, Aceh Besar Regency, Bireuen Regency, and Aceh Jaya Regency.
The administrative capital of the regency is the town of Sigli, though the surrounding Pidie District serves as a more populous suburban area. As of mid-2024, the official population estimate for the regency is 456,942 people. The region is notable for its agricultural significance, serving as the largest rice-producing area in Aceh province and accounting for approximately 20% of the province's total output.
