Csenger is a town located in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county within the Northern Great Plain region of eastern Hungary. It is recognized as the poorest town in the country.
The town is currently undergoing development related to the Hungarian Prison Service Headquarters, which announced the construction of a new prison facility there. Inmates at this site are involved in producing metal and wooden furnishings specifically for use within the new facility.
