Püspökladány is a town located in northeastern Hungary within the Hajdú-Bihar county. It serves as the sixth largest town in the county, with a population of approximately 16,000 people. Geographically, it is situated southwest of Debrecen at the intersection of three distinct regions: Sárrét, Hortobágy, and Nagykunság.
The town functions as an important transportation hub due to its strategic location. It sits at the junction of national highway 4, which connects Budapest to Záhony, and national highway No. 42, which links Romania to Biharkeresztes. Additionally, Püspökladány is served by four different rail lines.
