Hódmezővásárhely is a city with county rights located in southeast Hungary. It is situated on the Great Hungarian Plain at the geographical meeting point of the Békés-Csanádi Ridge and the clay grassland surrounding the river Tisza.
As of 2017, the city had a population of 44,009 residents.
