Szerencs is a town located in the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county in northern Hungary. It is situated approximately 35 km (22 mi) from the city of Miskolc and about 205 km (127 mi) from the capital city, Budapest.
The town has a population of roughly 9,100 inhabitants.
