Kalocsa is a town located in the Bács-Kiskun county of Hungary. It is situated approximately 142 km (88 mi) south of the capital city, Budapest.
The town is positioned in a marshy but highly productive district near the left bank of the Danube River. While it historically held greater political and economic importance than it does today, it remains a recognized settlement within the region.
