Croix-des-Bouquets

Croix-des-Bouquets is a commune situated in the Ouest department of Haiti. It is located approximately 12.9 kilometers, or about 8 miles, to the northeast of the nation's capital city, Port-au-Prince.

The settlement was originally established on the shoreline but was moved inland following the earthquake that struck Port-au-Prince in 1770. The area is characterized by an extremely high population density of 52,000 per square kilometer, making it one of the most densely populated cities in the world.
