Hrvatsko Zagorje is a cultural region located in northern Croatia. It is traditionally distinguished from the capital city of Zagreb by the Medvednica mountains. The geographical boundaries of the region extend north of Mount Medvednica to Slovenia in the north and west, while reaching the regions of Međimurje and Podravina in the north and east.
The population of Zagorje is not recorded as a single administrative unit because it is divided among Krapina-Zagorje County and the western and central parts of Varaždin County. Although there is no official total, the population of the region is estimated to exceed 300,000 people.
