Zaprešić is a town located in central Croatia within the Zagreb County. Situated northwest of the Croatian capital, Zagreb, it lies near the Slovenian border. The town is positioned on plains north of the Sava River and is geographically bordered by the Medvednica Mountain to the east and the Marija Gorica Hills to the west.
The town proper has a population of 19,644 inhabitants, while its administrative area houses 25,223 people. The broader metropolitan area, which includes seven neighboring municipalities, has a total population of 54,640. Zaprešić is recognized as the third-largest and most densely populated town in Zagreb County.
