Jasenovac is a village located in Croatia. During World War II, it served as the site of a large-scale concentration and extermination camp established by the authorities of the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) in occupied Yugoslavia.
Operated by the governing Ustaše regime, the camp was one of the ten largest in Europe and quickly became the third largest on the continent. It functioned as a site for the systematic extermination of Serbs, Romani people, Jews, and political dissidents under the Nazi collaborationist government.
