Novi Vinodolski is a coastal town located on the Adriatic Sea in Croatia. It is situated south of Crikvenica, Selce, and Bribir, and north of Senj. The population of the town is 3,988, while the total population within its administered area is 5,131.
The city's history dates back to the 13th century when it became a Frankopan property, a period associated with its most significant heritage sites, including the Law codex of Vinodol. The surrounding hinterland is dominated by the Vinodol Valley, which serves as a primary area for agriculture and winemaking. Additionally, the valley hosts a hydroelectric power plant that utilizes water from Gorski Kotar reservoirs.
Tourism is the primary driver of the local economy, as Novi Vinodolski is established as a tourist center with various amenities in an area largely free of other industries. The city relies substantially on nearby Rijeka for its transport links.
