Dekanovec is a village and municipality located in the Međimurje County of Croatia. It is situated approximately 14 kilometres north-east of Čakovec, which serves as the seat and largest city of the county. The municipality lies between the locations of Novakovec and Domašinec.
The area is characterized by its proximity to several international borders and geographical landmarks, including Hungary and Slovenia. It is also located near the Mura River. Notably, Dekanovec holds the distinction of being the smallest municipality in Croatia by territory.
