Slunj

Slunj is a town located in the mountainous region of Central Croatia within Karlovac County. It sits along a primary North-South route connecting Karlovac and Plitvice Lakes National Park, situated at the confluence of the Korana and Slunjčica rivers.

The town serves as the cultural and social center for the Kordun region near the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As of 2011, the municipality had a total population of 5,076 people. Administratively, it is classified by the Government of Croatia as an underdeveloped municipality within the First Category Area of Special State Concern.
