Yarumela, also known as El Chircal, is an archaeological site located in Honduras. It dates back to the Middle Formative era of Mesoamerican history and was occupied between 1000 BC and AD 250.
The site served as a residence for the ancestors of the Lencan culture, also referred to as the Proto-Lencan people. During its peak at the end of the Preclassic period, Yarumela functioned as a prominent trade center, specifically noted for the exchange of precious commodities.
