Tegucigalpa is the capital and largest city of Honduras. It is located within the Francisco Morazán Department region and serves as a primary urban center for the country alongside its sister city, Comayagüela.
The city is formally known as Tegucigalpa, Municipality of the Central District. In colloquial speech, it is frequently referred to by the nicknames Tegus or Teguz.
