So Uk Estate

Hong Kong

So Uk Estate is a public housing estate located in So Uk, a hillside area of Cheung Sha Wan in Kowloon, Hong Kong. It stands as one of the territory's earliest examples of public housing development.

The original estate was constructed between 1960 and 1963 in response to the 1953 Shek Kip Mei fire. The site has since been demolished and rebuilt in two phases, resulting in a redeveloped complex consisting of 14 residential blocks. These buildings contain approximately 6,985 flats and are expected to accommodate around 19,500 residents.
