Lam Tin is a residential area located in the Kwun Tong District in southeastern New Kowloon, Hong Kong. Historically, the site served as a large field near Kowloon Bay and was used for salt production during the Song dynasty.
Significant urban development began in the 1980s with the construction of numerous housing estates across the area. Today, Lam Tin functions primarily as a residential hub while also featuring several shopping attractions and a major transport interchange.
