Luanda is the capital and largest city of Angola, serving as the nation's primary port and its major industrial, cultural, and urban center. It functions as the administrative hub for the country and is the capital of the Luanda Province.

Situated on Angola's northern Atlantic coast, Luanda is a significant global demographic center. The city and its metropolitan area represent the most populous Portuguese-speaking national capital in the world, as well as the largest Lusophone city outside of Brazil. As of 2024, the population exceeded 8.8 million inhabitants.
