Champerico

Champerico is a town and municipality located in the Retalhuleu department in southwestern Guatemala. Founded on the Pacific Ocean in 1872, it serves as a popular vacation destination for residents of the region.

The town is recognized as one of the most important ports on the Pacific coast due to its connection via a paved road to Retalhuleu. The port primarily handles the transport of timber, sugar, and coffee. As of 2023, the population of Champerico was 39,666.
