Xalapa, also known as Jalapa or officially Xalapa-Enríquez, is the capital city of the Mexican state of Veracruz. It serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality of the same name.
Located near the geographic center of the state, it is the second-largest city in Veracruz after the city of Veracruz to the southeast. According to the 2020 census, the city had a population of 443,063, while the municipality covers an area of 118.45 km² with a total population of 488,531.
