Mixco is a city and municipality located in the department of Guatemala. It serves as the second-largest city in the country, following Guatemala City, with a population of 465,773.
The municipality is situated adjacent to Guatemala City and is an integral part of the Guatemala City Metropolitan Area. Geographically, much of Mixco is separated from the neighboring city by canyons, which has necessitated the construction of numerous bridges to connect the two areas.
