San Cristóbal Acasaguastlán is a town situated in the El Progreso department of Guatemala. Located at an altitude of 250 meters, the municipality sits on the northern bank of the Motagua River and covers a total territory of 124 square kilometers.
The town is positioned along the CA-9 inter-ocean highway, approximately 101 kilometers from Guatemala City. According to the 2002 census, San Cristóbal Acasaguastlán had a population of 6,129 people. It shares borders with San Agustín Acasaguastlán to the northwest, Usumatlán to the east, and El Jicaro to the south.
