Chimaltenango is a city located in Guatemala with a population of 96,985. It serves as the capital of the department of Chimaltenango and functions as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality of the same name.
The city is situated approximately 56 kilometres (35 mi) west of Guatemala City along the Pan-American Highway. It is notable for its production of textiles and pottery.
