Palaiochora is a small town located in the Chania regional unit of Greece. Situated on the southwest coast of Crete, it lies approximately 70 km south of the city of Chania. The town occupies a small peninsula measuring 400 meters wide and 700 meters long.
The settlement is positioned along 11 kilometers of coastline bordering the Libyan Sea. It serves as the seat of the municipality of Kantanos–Selino and had a recorded population of 2,181 during the 2021 census.
