Gournes is a village located in the northern region of Crete, Greece. It serves as the administrative seat of the local government unit of Hersonissos within the Heraklion regional unit.
The area is situated near the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas, positioned approximately 25 kilometers east of Heraklion and west of Agios Nikolaos. It lies roughly 25 kilometers from the Heraklion airport and 27 kilometers from the Heraklion port.
