Halki is an island and municipality located in the Dodecanese archipelago within the Aegean Sea. It is situated approximately 9 km (6 mi) west of Rhodes and falls under the jurisdiction of the Rhodes regional unit. The island covers a total area of 28 km2 (11 sq mi).
The community is divided into two parts: Chorio and Emporio. While the permanent population is recorded at 330 residents, the 2021 census indicated a population of 475 inhabitants. The majority of these residents are concentrated in the village of Emporio.
