Hydra, also known as Ydra or Idra, is an island in Greece located in the Aegean Sea. It is situated between the Myrtoan Sea and the Argolic Gulf, separated from the Peloponnese by a narrow strip of water.
In antiquity, the island was referred to as Hydrea. This name is believed to be a reference to the natural springs found on the island.
