Spetses is an island located in the Attica region of Greece. It is situated within the Saronic Islands group.
In ancient times, the island was known by the name Pityussa. Administratively, Spetses was part of the Argolis and Corinthia Prefecture until 1948, at which point the prefecture was split into two separate entities: Argolis and Corinthia.
