Nea Makri is a town located in East Attica, Greece. It is situated within the Athens metropolitan area and serves as a municipal unit under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Marathon. This administrative status was established following the local government reform of 2011.
The municipal unit of Nea Makri covers a total land area of 36.662 km². It is primarily recognized for its geographical position within the eastern region of the Attica peninsula.
