Kranidi is a town and former municipality located in the Argolis region of the Peloponnese peninsula in Greece. It currently serves as the seat of the municipality of Ermionida, which was established following the 2011 local government reform. The municipal unit of Kranidi covers an area of approximately 252.938 km² (97.660 sq mi).
Situated on the easternmost "finger" of the Peloponnese, the town is positioned in the eastern part of Argolis. It is located roughly 8 km (5.0 mi) west of Ermioni, 28 km (17 mi) south of Epidaurus, and 38 km (24 mi) southeast of Nafplio. The etymology of its name remains a subject of debate, with theories suggesting it may derive from either the word Koronida or Kranaos, which translates to "rocky trough."
