Gytheio, also known as Gythio, is a town located on the eastern shore of the Mani Peninsula in the Peloponnese region of southern Greece. It is situated within the historical and administrative region of Laconia.
As the largest and most important town in the Mani region, Gytheio serves as the seat of the municipality of East Mani. The town holds significant historical importance regarding the history of Mani and its people, the Maniots.
