Schimatari

Schimatari is a town and former municipality located in Boeotia, Greece. Following the 2011 local government reform, it became a municipal unit and serves as the seat of the municipality of Tanagra. The municipal unit covers an area of 38.285 km2.

The town is situated in the wide valley of the river Asopos, positioned approximately 6 km from the South Euboean Gulf coast. It is located 13 km south of Chalcis, 23 km east of Thebes, and 43 km north-northwest of Athens. Key infrastructure in the vicinity includes the A1 motorway to the north and Tanagra Airport to the south.
