Kalavryta is a town and municipality situated in the mountainous east-central region of Achaea, Greece. It is located on the right bank of the Vouraikos River, positioned approximately 24 kilometres south of Aigio, 40 kilometres southeast of Patras, and 62 kilometres northwest of Tripoli.
The municipality is characterized by its surrounding geography, featuring notable mountains such as Mount Erymanthos to the west and Aroania, also known as Chelmos, to the southeast. The town serves as the southern terminus of the Diakopto-Kalavryta rack railway, a transport link constructed by Italian engineers between 1885 and 1895.
