Gaios is the primary port located on Paxos, which is the smallest of the seven principal Ionian Islands in Greece. The settlement is situated specifically on the east coast of the island.
The town derives its name from a homonymous pupil of Paul the Apostle, who is credited with bringing Christianity to the island.
