Corfu, also known as Kerkyra, is an island located in western Greece within the Ionian Islands region. It serves as the northernmost island on the Greek west coast, excluding its satellite Diapontian Islands. These islands collectively represent the westernmost point of all Greece.
The island and the Diapontian Islands mark the International Hydrographic Organization border separating the Ionian Sea to the south from the Adriatic Sea to the north. Within the regional unit of Corfu, the territory extends as far south as Paxoi. The capital and largest city of this regional unit is also named Corfu.
