Lagkadas is a town and municipality situated in the northeastern part of the Thessaloniki regional unit in Greece. Located at an altitude of approximately 130 meters, it sits in the center of the Mygdonia valley, roughly 20 kilometers northeast of central Thessaloniki. The region features a continental climate and is located near Lake Koroneia.
The area holds historical significance as a route used by Alexander the Great during his campaigns and by the Apostle Paul on his journey toward Athens and Thessaloniki. Local history is marked by participation in the revolution of 1821, notably involving fighter Stavros Tzanis, which resulted in the destruction of the town in retaliation. The community also played a role in the Macedonian Struggle, with Christos Dremlis recognized as a primary warrior.
