Giannitsa is a city located in northern Greece within the region of Central Macedonia. It serves as the largest urban center of the regional unit of Pella, which was historically known as the capital of that area. Additionally, Giannitsa functions as the administrative seat for the municipality of Pella.
According to the 2021 census, the city has a population of 32,410 inhabitants. The Municipal Unit of Giannitsa encompasses an area of 208.105 km² and includes several settlements, such as Ampeleies, Archontiko, Asvestario, Damiano, Eleftherochori, Leptokarya, Melissi, Mesiano, and Paralimni.
