Soufli

Greece

Soufli is a town located in the Evros regional unit of Greece. It serves as the seat of the municipality of Soufli and is situated on the eastern slope of the twin hill of Prophet Elias, which forms one of the easternmost spurs of the Rhodope Mountains.

The town is positioned in the center of the Evros regional unit, approximately 65 km north of Alexandroupoli and 50 km southwest of Orestiada. It lies along Greek National Road 51/E85, a route connecting Alexandroupoli with Edirne and the Bulgarian border at Ormenio. The town center is located only 500 meters from the Evros River.

Soufli is historically notable for its silk industry, which flourished in the region during the 19th century.
