Samothrace is a Greek island located in the northern Aegean Sea. It serves as a municipality within the Evros regional unit of Thrace. The island covers an area of 178 km2 (69 sq mi) and measures approximately 17 km (11 mi) in length, with a current population of 2,596 residents.

The island is characterized by rugged terrain, featuring Mt Saos and its highest peak, Fengari, which reaches an elevation of 1,611 m (5,285 ft). Its primary industries are fishing and tourism, while the natural resources include granite and basalt. Samothrace is also notable as the site where the Winged Victory of Samothrace statue was discovered; the sculpture is currently on display at the Louvre in Paris.
