Orestiada is a city located in the Evros regional unit of Thrace in northeastern Greece. It holds the distinction of being the northernmost and northeasternmost city in the country. As the newest city in Greece, it was established in 1923 by Greek refugees who relocated from Edirne following the population exchange between Greece and Turkey.
The city serves as the second largest urban center within the Evros regional unit. It currently has a population of approximately 20,000 residents.
