Kato Nevrokopi is a town and municipality situated in the northwest section of the Drama regional unit in Greece. Prior to the 2011 local government reform, it held the distinction of being the largest municipality in Greece, covering an area of 873.552 km2. According to the 2021 census, the population of the area is 5,323 inhabitants.
The region is characterized by very low winter temperatures and is well-known for its agricultural production, specifically potatoes and beans. Notable landmarks within the municipality include the ski center of Falakro, the traditional village of Granitis, the historical bunker of Lise, and the artificial lakes of Lefkogeia and Potamoí. The area also features various old churches, forest paths suitable for hiking, and several abandoned villages such as Monastiri and Mavrochori.
