Bakau is a town located on the Atlantic coast of The Gambia, situated west of the nation's capital city, Banjul. It serves as the first major suburb outside of Banjul and is recognized as the most developed town in the country.
The town is notable for its botanical gardens and the Bakau Kachikally crocodile pool. Additionally, it is known for the beaches located at Cape Point. Bakau is situated near Serekunda, which is the largest city in The Gambia.
