Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory and city situated at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. It is located on the Bay of Gibraltar, near the point where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. The territory covers an area of 6.8 km2 (2.6 sq mi) and shares its northern border with Spain.
The landscape of the territory is dominated by the Rock of Gibraltar, which sits adjacent to a densely populated town area. The city serves as home to approximately 34,000 people, who are primarily known as Gibraltarians.
