Japekrom

Japekrom is the municipal capital of the Jaman South Municipality located in the Bono Region of Ghana. Historically significant since the colonial Gold Coast era, the town was formerly referred to as Pruano and appeared on colonial maps under the spelling Pulliano.

The township is characterized by a foundation of solid stone, which serves as a symbol of resistance against suppression or oppression. The traditional leadership of Japekrom, known as the Japekromhene, is an integral part of the Asanteman council.
