Berekum is a city located in the Bono Region of Ghana and serves as the capital of the Berekum East Municipal district. Known by the nickname "The Golden City," it is home to a population that was recorded at 62,364 in 2012.
The native language spoken by the people of Berekum is Bono Twi. As of 2020, the city's traditional leadership is held by Daasebre Dr. Amankona Diawuo II, who serves as the Omanhene.
